Help With Sizing
Each product page shows the finished garment measurements in inches. For the best comparison, measure a similar garment that already fits you well rather than measuring your body.
Model reference
We use Josh for every e-commerce shoot, giving you a consistent reference across all products.
Josh is 6 ft, slim, with a 32-inch waist. He wears:
- Large in tops
- Medium in elasticated-waist bottoms
- 32-inch waist with a 32-inch leg in fixed-waist trousers
Unless stated otherwise, these are the sizes shown in our product photographs.
How to measure
Fasten the garment, lay it face-up on a flat surface and smooth it without stretching. Compare your measurements with the relevant product size chart.
All measurements are in inches. As every garment is cut and sewn by hand, variations of up to approximately 0.25 inches may occur.
Tops and jackets
- Length: Highest shoulder point beside the collar to the bottom hem.
- Pit to pit: Straight across from one underarm seam to the other.
- Shoulder: Collar edge to shoulder seam. This measures one shoulder only.
- Sleeve: Shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
Raglan-sleeve jackets
- Length: Highest point where the collar meets the shoulder to the bottom hem.
- Pit to pit: Straight across from one underarm seam to the other.
- Raglan sleeve: Side of the collar, along the upper sleeve, to the end of the cuff.
Raglan garments do not have a separate shoulder measurement.
Trousers and shorts
- Inseam: Crotch seam down the inside leg to the hem.
- Outseam: Top of the waistband down the outside leg to the hem.
- Thigh: Straight across one leg just below the crotch.
- Leg opening: Straight across the bottom of one leg.
Pit-to-pit, thigh and leg-opening measurements show the garment’s flat width—not its full circumference.
The waist shown beside each size is the intended waist size. Elasticated styles may fit a range of waist sizes.
Choosing your fit
Compare the chart with a similar garment that has the fit you want. Consider whether you prefer a closer fit, the intended fit, a more relaxed fit or extra room for layers.
If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size for a closer fit or the larger size for a more relaxed fit.
Product-specific fit notes will explain whether a style is regular, relaxed, oversized, cropped or wide.
